Spencer Ross is a PhD candidate in the marketing department at University of Massachusetts Amherst. His primary research interests include prosocial behaviors, ethical consumption, materialism, and social desirability. He is currently working on his dissertation focusing on the intersection of marketing exchange and equity sensitivity theories and highlighting personality and individual differences as drivers of ethical consumer behaviors. Aside from transformative consumer research, Spencer has tertiary interests in branding, cross-cultural marketing, and internet marketing, and was a recipient of a campus fellowship committed to interdisciplinary (business, science, and technology) research. He currently teaches an upperclass internet marketing course at UMass. Prior to entering the doctoral program at UMass, Spencer received an MBA concentrating in international business from St. John’s University and a BA in political science from McGill University (Montreal, Canada).
